U.S. economy added 175,000 jobs in May and that the unemployment rate ticked up to 7.6 percent, from 7.5 percent in April.
Employment of waiters, cooks, bartenders and the like rose by 38,000 in May and is up 337,000 over the past year. That’s about 16 percent of total job creation over the past year.
Professional and business services +57,000 jobs.
